annalise fairfax - in the steps of the dragon

according to chinese legend the carp struggle upstream through the rapids to the source of the yellow river where they transmute to dragons. the carp has come to symbolize this quality of perseverance necessary for a successful life.the tano no sekku (boys day festival) is held in japan on 5 may to celebrate the carp becoming dragon.in the chinese language the words for fish & abundance (yu) are homophones. thus cups with leaping carp can be seen as a symbol of freely flowing abundance.
