Christine White & Dagmar Cyrulla are both finalists in the 2008 Doug Moran National Portrait Prize. Dagmar is also a finalist in the Adelaide Perry Prize for Drawing.

Our congratulations to WANG XU who is a finalist in this year's ARCHIBALD PRIZE with a wonderful portrait of Nick Waterlow. Xu was also a finalist in 2007.

Bjorn's Godwin's 2005 Sculpture by the Sea entry has finally found the right home. The X Ray Specs which were on Tamarama Beach in 2005 are now on a vast green lawn next to a swimming pool. Inspired by the superhero comics Bjorn read as a boy - it is all about enjoying a good perv on the beach from the safety of dark glasses!

We are pleased to welcome Melbourne sculptor William Eicholtz, winner of the 2005 Helen Lempriere Outdoor Sculpture Award, who has joined our stable of artists. William will participate in our SCULPTURE 2008 exhibition in May. An ABC TV documentary 'Artist's @ Work' will be screened on May 13 - a 30 minute explanation of William's identity as an artist & all his major works to date including a commission for the Tarra Warra Museum of Art.

We are very pleased to welcome Linton Meagher who has also joined the gallery. Linton works with capsules, scalpel blades & bullets set in resin on perspex. His exhibition is March 11 - 30.

Bjorn Godwin has been awarded the Director's Prize (now known as The Andrea Stretton Invitation To Cottesloe) at the 2007 Sculpture By The Sea presentations for his work Number 96. Congratulations Bjorn and Bruce Radke is again in Sculpture by The Sea with his work Regatta which has found a good home in Western Australia.

Congratulations to Thomas Spence & Dagmar Cyrulla both finalists in the 2007 Dobell Prize For Drawing, Australia's most prestigious drawing prize sponsored by the Sir William Dobell Foundation. The annual exhibition is at the Art Gallery of NSW. Tom's work was 'Field Work Trilogy' & Dagmar's which is about growing up in Australia is 'Playing With The Hose Under The Hills Hoist'.

The HUNTINGTON MUSIC FESTIVAL was a huge success again in 2007 and
Huntington's continued sponsorship of our exhibitions is greatly appreciated.

Congratulations to Lotje Meijer who had a sell - out show in 2007. We are very much looking forward to her coming exhibition of drawings & prints in November 2008.

John Haycraft & The Paddington Society have joined forces to produce a wonderful book of paintings of Paddington houses, pubs, shops & streescapes & we were thrilled to launch the book on Saturday 5th May. The book was officially launched by Malcolm Turnbull MP, Member for Wentworth & Barry Stern related tales of the early 60's when the actress Vivienne Leigh officially opened his new gallery in Paddington. Original paintings are for sale & all proceeds of book sales go to The Paddington Society to help preserve the Victorian character of the area. The evening was a huge success with one of the largest attendances in the gallery's history. The speeches were delivered from the first floor balcony to the assembled crowd in the street below.

The sponsorship of the gallery's exhibitions by HUNTINGTON ESTATE the outstanding wines from the only five star rated winery in the wine region of Mudgee, NSW has been a great hit with visitors to the gallery. Huntington Estate is famous for its great reds and the wonderful Huntington Festival held in November - December each year. We have now started a regular series of Huntington Estate Wine Tastings at the gallery which have been a huge success with art & wine lovers.
